CHEEK AND CHEST REJUVENATION AT MEDISCULPT

As you probably know, Medi-Sculpt specializes in aesthetic treatments, and in particular, skin rejuvenation treatments. From Botox to Chemical peels, we offer a wide array of non-surgical procedures that will successfully turn back the clock and give you the youthful glow you were after.

This month, my newsletter is all about lesser known uses of injectables such as cheek augmentation and chest rejuvenation and we’ll wrap up with etiquette and how to act around colleagues or friends who’ve had “work done”.

There is more information on all the non-surgical treatments we offer on the Medi-Sculpt website  and this is number you must dial to look amazing in no time 0861 003 007

CHEEK ENHANCEMENT

→What Is Cheek Enhancement?

Attractive cheekbones are an important element of facial beauty. Well-defined cheeks create balance, improve the facial profile, and are a symbol of elegance.

Over time, the face loses fat, causing the cheeks to become flat and saggy, giving way to a sunken-in look. Although some are born with naturally high cheekbones, achieving the look of sculpted cheeks can be easily accomplished thanks to Restylane injections that focus on restoring plumpness, volume and definition.

Both men and women may be frustrated because their cheeks have never been well-contoured or may become dissatisfied with a sagging, flattening and loss of volume and the cheek area because of how it makes the face look older and tired.

Most of the time, requests for cheek enhancement or augmentation procedures by people come from a desire to look younger, fresher and rejuvenated.

To restore volume lost with age or to provide definition, I can inject fillers along the cheekbone. With gold standard dermal fillers such as Restylane, cheek enhancement, is possible.

→How do Cheek Dermal fillers work?

I inject Restylane beneath the skin in the targeted areas using a very fine needle. Once the filler substance has been injected, it plumps up the skin from beneath, filling wrinkles or augmenting facial features such as cheeks.

People often combine dermal fillers with BOTOX® Cosmetic for more complete facial enhancement. The addition of Botulinum Toxin is something you and I can of course discuss during you consultation.

Dermal fillers like Restylane never fail to achieve very natural-looking improvement. The results can last from several months to over a year, depending upon the specific filler used.

My patients often come back to Medi-Sculpt for repeat treatments in order to ensure continued maintenance and improvement, and fine adjustments can be made with each procedure.

→How is cheek enhancement different from a facelift?

A facelift is a long and complex procedure that involves several areas of the face which typically requires anaesthesia and significant recovery times. It is also an invasive procedure that carries significant risks. People who opt for cheek enhancements tend to be younger than those who get facelifts, i.e. people who don’t yet need a full facelift.

Cheek enhancements can help create subtle improvements in parts of the face, without it being obvious.

All dermal fillers treatments are entirely non-surgical and are performed at my Medi-Sculpt rooms. During the cheek enhancement procedure, Restylane can be injected in several ways, such as:

•Above the cheekbones to achieve a chiselled look

•Into the soft tissue of the cheeks, “lifting” the area to correct an aged or sunken appearance

This, of course, varies from one patient to another, depending on your unique facial characteristics but also the desired results.

CHEST REJUVENATION

Now I want to talk about chest wrinkles which are one of the least anticipated signs of aging. Women are often shocked by the appearance of these wrinkles and want to get rid of them as quickly as possible.

Have you seen major signs of ageing on your chest area? Is it something that you would like to improve?

What causes chest wrinkles?

As a woman ages, the collagen and elastin in her skin begin to breakdown and the body produces less of these elements, which are responsible for keeping skin looking firm, tight, and healthy.

In turn, the lack of collagen and elastin results in the formation of wrinkles and causes the skin to sag. Just like the face, the chest can begin to lose its elasticity, and women will often experience some wrinkling and the development of age spots.

What can we do at Medi-Sculpt to treat your chest wrinkles?

Cleavage rejuvenation is actually not that different from receiving BOTOX® or dermal filler injections on the face. I will use a needle to inject Restylane Vital into the skin of your chest, filling those sunken areas that are causing wrinkles. This process then allows the skin to become firmer, tauter, and even look fuller.

→How long do chest filler injections last?

The amount of time one experiences optimal results from a filler injection will vary from one patient to the next as each person’s body metabolizes the medication differently. Also, the results vary depending on the type and amount of product used.

For instance, hyaluronic acid fillers like Restylane, which I use at Medi-Sculpt, usually last between 6 and 12 months.

Dermal fillers are incredibly versatile. Take a look at the wonders it could do for your lips

One of the great things about dermal filler injections is that there is no downtime after a procedure. Patients generally return to their normal activities right after their treatment session. You could even undergo chest rejuvenation during your lunch break!

You think skin rejuvenation is just for the ladies? Think again!

→How can you prevent chest wrinkles in the first place?

As always when it comes to skin ageing, the best way to prevent wrinkles on the face, neck, and chest is to protect the skin from sun exposure! Had you guessed?!

Most people remember to apply sunscreen on their face but totally forget the chest and neck areas which are often exposed. Also, avoid standing in direct sunlight for extended periods of time.

I would, of course, be happy to provide you with customized skincare tips during your consultation to help you care for the skin on your chest.

This newsletter tells you how to keep wrinkles at bay

COSMETIC SURGERY ETIQUETTE: WHAT YOU SHOULD AND SHOULDN’T SAY

Let’s wrap up this month’s newsletter with a fun topic and let’s discuss cosmetic surgery etiquette and what to say to friends or colleagues who have had “work done”.

Often times, people who have had cosmetic procedures really appreciate it when others tell them they look good so it would be perfectly appropriate to say something like: “You look really great; so refreshed! What’s your secret?”

Of course, in the case that a friendly colleague did inform you that he/she’s having rhinoplasty, feel free to go ahead and ask questions like: “How are you feeling?” and “How did the procedure go?” “Were you happy with the doctor?”

Finally, here are some tips when you think anyone has had “work done”:

  • Better safe than sorry: don’t ever ask. It’s usually regarded as rude to come out and ask about it. Rather wait for them to tell you.
  • Wait until the procedure’s been acknowledged before asking for a doctor referral.
  • Think before you speak: If someone’s still scarred or bruised, don’t say what’s on your mind, they’re most probably already feeling self-conscious about it.
  • Avoid gossiping about it and don’t be the one to start rumours.
  • And when it comes to “bad” results, it’s best to pretend not to notice anything at all.

I hope you enjoyed the above information and discussion. Be sure to find me on Facebook ; Google+ and on Twitter
