YOUR SKIN AND THE SUN
Do you wear sunblock daily?
As you may already know, sunscreen is a must! Always wear sunscreen but also sunglasses and a hat when you go out in the sun.
Simply eating lots of fruits and veggies with sun protecting vitamins won’t keep you safe. Even if you have darker coloured skin, you need to wear sunscreen. Remember that UVA, UVB and UVC can reach you indoors through windows and can be extremely dangerous. This counts for overcast days too.
We cannot stress it enough: you need to protect your skin on a daily basis! Choose a sunscreen that is 30 or 40 SPF and apply it evenly to your skin, all year long. Try to use a face friendly, water resistant sunscreen.
At MediSculpt we also stock moisturising creams with SPF included. That way you treat your skin and protect it in a single application. Apply just enough and remember to do so every 2 hours, this will keep the sun from prematurely ageing and wrinkling your skin.
It might be a good idea to wear lip balm with sunscreen in it as well. Choose a broad brimmed or bucket hat, and slide on a pair of sunglasses in order to avoid wrinkles around your eyes. We can correct these wrinkles with well place Botox and Restylane Vital but maintenance is also key.
Please note that the usual factor 15 sunscreens in most moisturizers are not adequate and Dr. Reddy advises to apply a factor 30 + on top of your moisturizer of choice.
DR REDDY’S TIPS!
Remember that great skin is a skin that gets plenty of moisture. From your cream but also from your water intake. Remember to drink at least 2 litres of water throughout the day.
Remove makeup before going to bed at night to prevent clogged pores and acne outbreaks.
These tips are posted here to keep your skin looking its best throughout the year, regardless of where you are or what you are doing.
Did you know that when oestrogen levels decline, moisture and collagen also dip? Try an oestrogen cream to fortify your skin.
Restylane Vital is a superb treatment offering to replace lost moisture in the skin. The treatment will minimize soft wrinkles, thicken the skin and also promote a healthy, yourthful glow.
If you want your skin to look its absolute best, quit smoking and reduce your alcohol consumption. Both cause a lot of damage to your skin cells so make sure to keep these bad habits under control. Alcoholic beverages tend to dehydrate the skin and in doing so, create more wrinkles.
Dehydration, with sun damage and smoking is the biggest skin ageing contributors.
Wash your face in the morning and night. Make sure you wash your hands before washing your face, or you’ll just spread bacteria and dirt.
