Vaginal Rejuvenation Therapy – How it Works

Vaginal Rejuvenation Therapy – How it Works

Focusing on the face is one thing but the body beautiful is also very important, especially in a country like South Africa where the summers can last up to nine months a year and the body is always on display.

Creating a sculpted, athletic defined appearance is the new focus among the aesthetic industry and breast lifts, mini tummy tucks with liposuction as well as the reduction of “saddlebags” are some of the most popular procedures among women, says Dr Anuska Reddy of Medi-Sculpt.

The “mummy makeover” is very much in demand as women look at acquiring their pre-baby beach body, says Dr Reddy.

But what about the parts of the female body that are not always on display?

One of the procedures that is involved in a mommy makeover is Vaginal Rejuvenation Therapy.

As women grow older they become conscious of the ageing process within their bodies, including atrophy in their labia and vaginal areas, as well as their urinary tract.

The trend for “designer vaginas” is growing as women who have had children and older women want to regain lost muscle tone, tightness and pleasurable sensations in this area, as well as control their bladder muscles better. Let’s face it, practising Kegels exercises can only get you so far but childbirth and menopause can take their toll.

“The less invasive the better” is the mantra for today’s aesthetic practictioners so regaining the vagina you had as a teenager is not the grisly process you would imagine at all.

In fact it’s a 20 minute walk-in, walk-out lunchtime treatment which will see a vast improvement in vaginal revitalisation, vaginal tightening and loss of elasticity.

The treatment involves laser treatments which tighten up the tissues, says Dr Reddy.

So how does it all work?

A laser is inserted into the vaginal area and controlled energy laser pulses are delivered to the vaginal tract and required areas for vaginal tightening along every one centimentre.

This heats up the skin tissues and collagen in order to make the muscle fibres contract and shrink.

The fibres then get shorter and thicker reducing any laxity in the area.

The remodelling to collagen allows for enriched tissues as well as younger, tighter and elastic muscle fibres.

The process can be extended to include the bladder muscles which are closely related to the vaginal muscles.

In addition to Vaginal Rejuvenation Therapy, Dr Reddy also offers G-spot amplification. This procedure is another growing international trend, particularly among women who’ve had children.

“It’s a non-surgical, minimally invasive procedure that temporarily augments the G-spot, with effects lasting up to four months. The procedure involves using an injectable dermal filler which is FDA approved for use in facial augmentation. In a pilot study, 87% of women surveyed after the procedure reported enhanced sexual arousal and gratification, although results do vary,” she says.

These procedures may originate in Beverly Hills and be used by the rich and famous but fortunately their benefits filter through to the normal woman in the street most in need of them.

Even though these treatments do not reflect in our outward appearances, they make the world of difference to a woman’s well being and sense of confidence and help her get her “mojo” back.

Dr Reddy is always available to answer questions on this subject and will get back to prospective patients as soon as she can.
