Pump up the Volume

Pump up the Volume

There is no doubt that sculpted cheekbones and plump ‘apple’ cheeks; a beautifully straight nose and a firm jawline contribute to a younger, more attractive profile. If you’re not naturally endowed with these features or have lost some of them with age, Medi-Sculpt™ can certainly give you a non-surgical helping hand with special contouring and volumising injections. Our results will look perfectly natural as we take care to avoid the dreaded “pillow face” by individualizing our treatments. While cosmetic treatments used to be all about ‘chasing’ lines and wrinkles, the past few years have also focused on volumising and re-contouring the face. That’s because the most distinctive thing that happens when we age is that our face loses volume most evidently in the cheek area. In addition to the Life Liquid Lift (a combination treatment using Botulinum Toxin and Dermal Fillers) Medi-sculpt™ is the only group of clinics in the country offering the cutting-edge 3D Vector Technique that uses a volumizing filler to restore and re-sculpt the contours and volume of your youth. The so-called “magic” Pix’l Cannula is used – a blunt, diamond polished cannula that is atraumatic (significantly reduced discomfort and bruising) and flexible.

The 3D Vector Lift Effect (Exclusively performed at Medi-Sculpt™) using only the recommended volume of Restylane Sub-Q

The dragging, cumulative effects of time become evident as we age. This is seen well in the Mid-face the bone and soft tissue degenerates, which leads to a loss of malar prominence and a flattening of the facial features. This loss of volume in the mid face brought about by the descent of the malar fat pad, results in a decrease of facial fullness, a deepening of the Nasiolabial folds and a decrease in the significance of the nose and chin.

The volume loss experienced as a result of ageing is most prominent around the eyes, cheeks and jaw line which lead to the flattening of natural arcs and fullness of the face. The objective when treating this volume loss would be to primarily restore the loss of volume, to regain a youthful fullness of the face and to balance features or redistribute volume. This cannot be achieved by a surgical face lift, Botulinum toxin injections or resurfacing of the skin. Patients now have the option of restoring lost volume or reshaping their facial contours with the skilled use of hyaluronic acid. Results are immediate and downtime is minimal – the patient can resume normal activities immediately

A cheek enhancement restores a youthful appearance by injecting dermal filler into the cheeks. A numbing cream can be applied to minimise discomfort as well as a local anaesthetic block, the injections take less than an hour and the results are instantly visible.

Why is it a good anti-ageing treatment?
A youthful face is characterised by an inverted triangle shape, with the cheeks representing the wide part and the chin representing the tip of the triangle. As we age, the fat pads in our cheeks lose fullness and begin to slide down our face. This is most visible in folds running from the corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth, a sunken appearance around the eyes and jowls along the jaw line. Traditional anti-ageing treatments would focus on using a dermal filler to reduce the visibility of the nose to mouth lines. However, often a superior treatment will be to enhance the cheeks with a sub-dermal filler, which restores the face to the youthful, inverted triangle.

A cheek enhancement is most suitable for people who have minor to moderate nose to mouth lines and jowls, yet do not need or want a surgical solution such as a facelift. Typically, this includes people in their thirties to fifties.

Why is it superior to other anti-ageing treatments?
Restoring fullness to the cheeks can have an astonishingly anti-ageing effect, yet look completely natural. This is because it is affecting four areas all at once. First, it is restoring the cheeks of your youth. Second, it reduces the sunken appearance around the eyes. Third, it will reduce the appearance of nose to mouth lines. Finally, it will subtly restore the jaw line by lifting the skin of the face.

How long does it last?

Depending on the product used, a cheek enhancement will last from 12 to 24 months or more before you gradually return to your pre-treatment state.

Is this a treatment you can have repeated in the future if necessary?
Yes!

What product is used?
Restylane Perlane™ for cheek enhancements and Restylane Sub-Q™ for 3D Vector lifts, Cheek enhancements and natural Volume Restoration

A treatment with RESTYLANE SubQ™ requires only a short downtime and delivers a safe and instant volume enhancement needed to achieve a smooth lift, with optimal results. The result is long lasting, up to 2 years, and you can vary the treatment as often as you want. A treatment with RESTYLANE SubQ™ produces a good and safe aesthetic outcome, as RESTYLANE has an unbeaten track record of over 11 million treatments worldwide, you can also be assured that the treatment is natural, safe and effective. It is a value for money treatment, when compared to surgical options, and because it is virtually pain free with no downtime, becomes an obvious choice in treating volume loss and re-contouring facial features.

It is a very attractive option as an alternative to surgery; for cheek augmentation in younger patients with flat malar bones; for mid-face rejuvenation in patients who have lost facial volume and want to restore a youthful appearance; and for chin augmentation or rejuvenation of the chin profile in patients with early chin regeneration.

What is the recovery time?
You can return to normal activities quite quickly. Many people have a cheek enhancement as a lunch-time procedure, though there is usually some noticeable redness to the cheeks on the day of treatment which resolves itself in about 24 hours.
